Montreal, 2025 — It's impossible to imagine a better climax for this historic edition of MicroCon: the Closing Gala will be remembered as the perfect embodiment of the values dear to micronationalism: fraternity and goodwill.

In a world where macro-leaders strive to sow conflict and anxiety, the guests at this MicroCon treated themselves to a true bubble of peace and human warmth for one evening. This gala was shining proof that happiness multiplies when shared—and especially when shared over an excellent meal. Special thanks to the organizers, who brilliantly delight their hosts' palates.

Orange (but chic) cones to decorate this Montreal edition

It's hard not to smile when you see the tables: construction cones—the unmistakable icon of the world's largest French-speaking city—transformed into red and white flower pots, a bold nod to Montreal. A decor as improbable as it is welcoming, and one that was unanimously acclaimed.

When brotherhood is worn in evening gowns... or pajamas

What's striking about MicroCon is this incredible ability to combine humor, elegance, and authenticity. The imperial American tradition once again this year allowed for the joyful blend of pajamas, tails, tuxedos, and long dresses. Because here, there's no need for pretension: it's the joy of being together that fills the heart, far more than silk or satin.

In the pajama category, Joe Kowalski unquestionably won the prize for the most beautiful pajamas with truly imperial nonchalance!

The delegations from Karnia-Ruthenia and New Rubix shone with refinement, sporting their tails with a panache worthy of an embassy ball. President Kevin Baugh caused a sensation in his deep blue uniform—to the point of captivating many a woman's gaze! As for Grand Duke Travis, he truly earned his unofficial title of "sexiest monarch" in his legendary uniform. We can't forget the class of Prince John Peter IV and General Toth of Sylvestria in his perfectly tailored tuxedo.

In terms of feminine elegance, blue stood out as the star color of the evening: Empress Christina, Queen Lynne of Slabovia, and First Lady Adrianne of Molossia dazzled the audience in their sublime blue gowns. Among the most glamorous couples, the Ironland delegation exuded a dream from the moment they entered the room, creating an immediate wow factor. There were many others, of course, a testament to everyone's dedication to the evening.

And let's not forget the killer detail: the sparkling gold shoes worn by Mark Corona, from the slowjamastani delegation, which were a hit with everyone!

Strong and emotional moments

Another highlight of the evening was Matthew Fearless Salzer's presentation of the Nemean Games winners' belt, the micronational equivalent of the Olympic Games. This year, Cycoldia caused a surprise by dethroning Molossia, the defending champion, and Empress Christina brandished the belt to thunderous applause. It just goes to show that the spirit of competition can also be combined with fraternity.

We must also acknowledge a particularly touching moment: the presentation of the Norton Award by the Micronational Hall of Excellence, chaired by the Right Honorable Jordan Farmer. The latter asked Prince Jean-Pierre IV of Aigues-Mortes to present the prestigious distinction to His Majesty Emperor Eric d'Aérica, co-host of this MicroCon 2025. During the reading of his speech, the Prince highlighted the exceptional qualities of the Emperor, arousing great emotion shared by all the guests.

Smiles galore, hundreds of photos

Empress Jenny d'Aerica radiated infectious good humor, while Emperor Eric, relieved to see this edition crowned with success, fully enjoyed the moment. He shared that feeling well-known to all organizers: the sweet satisfaction of seeing so many happy faces.

And what faces! Cameras clicked relentlessly, immortalizing the fraternity, the tenderness, and the occasional impromptu antics. The very next day, social media was flooded with smiles and bursts of laughter, proving that this gala had hit its target: to bring people together, to soothe, and to do good.

A lesson in humanity, micronational greatness

This Closing Gala wasn't just a celebration; it was a message. A message that says: "Together, we can be greater than our differences." A message of peace, friendship, and kindness, which Montreal held high, like a torch in the night.

And, truly, whether in an evening gown, gold shoes, or pajamas, the world could do with some inspiration.
