Since its inception, the MICRO-GOTHA almanac has quickly established itself as one of the most popular projects on the micronational scene. Its mission: to serve as a register listing the monarchs, heads of state, sovereign families, and presidential figures of the micronation world. Today, at a pivotal moment, the editorial rights to MICRO-GOTHA are officially transferred to MicroWiki and the Ladonian Crown, ensuring the preservation and evolution of this unique documentary heritage.

A project born from a micronational passion
The Micro-Gotha project was launched by Olivier Martinez with the creation of the Micro Gotha Facebook group in 2015: a crucial first step in structuring the initiative and establishing it as a point of reference for the micronational community.
Its mission was clear: to create an official and comprehensive register of reigning houses, heads of state, and sovereign figures of the micronational world*, modeled after the historic European Almanac of Gotha.
A noble mission… but a complex one
Very quickly, a team of five volunteer contributors came together to manage the regular updating of the content. But this task proved particularly arduous. The micronational community, rich and vibrant, is characterized by the rapid evolution of micronations, often ephemeral or frequently changing their status, symbols, or leaders. Between micronations dissolving, restructuring, or undergoing numerous institutional reforms, the workload of updating became almost unmanageable, especially since the small team lacked time and resources.
Added to this was a structural reality: Micro-Gotha never had its own website or independent budget, and its data was hosted and accessible via Microcosme.info.
An attempted mission hijacking and the community's reaction
Last year, a major incident shook the micronational community: unknown third parties located in the United Kingdom attempted to create a website using the name "MICRO-GOTHA," appropriating the project's original mission without authorization. This act sparked outrage among micronationalists, raising concerns about the protection of the name and mission.
In response to this situation, and with the agreement of Olivier Martinez, the Ladonian Crown intervened financially to purchase several domain names containing "micro-gotha," thus blocking any misuse and paving the way for the creation of a legitimate official website. This support was crucial in ensuring greater legal protection for the project. Today, the Ladonian Crown remains the only institution to have invested in Micro-Gotha, making it the sole shareholder and owner of the micronational almanac.

Why entrust MICRO-GOTHA to MicroWiki?
Even with secure domains, maintaining and updating data requires editorial and community expertise that only a structured platform like MicroWiki can provide in the long term. Over the years, MicroWiki has established itself as the largest online encyclopedia dedicated to the world’s micronations, hosting collaborative documentation regularly enriched by international contributors.
The decision to entrust editorial rights to MicroWiki was accelerated when Duke Ivan Bertjens, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ladonia, became the new owner of MicroWiki—an institutional convergence that sealed the possibility of a smooth transition between two partner micronations.
A voluntary and friendly handover
For Olivier Martinez, this transition is the culmination of a shared vision:
“I have complete confidence in the expertise and intention of the Ladonian Crown and MicroWiki—now Ladonian—to continue this wonderful micronational project. This transaction to safeguard a micronational institution is to be commended, and I sincerely thank Her Majesty Queen Carolyn of Ladonia and His Grace Yvan Bertjens for their friendship and commitment to the long-term viability of Micro-Gotha.”
microcosme.info , Owned by Olivier Martinez and registered in the Principality of Aigues-Mortes, Micro-Gotha will cease publishing its content in the first months of 2026, when MikroWiki will be able to fully take over. The names and rights will remain with the Ladonian Crown.
Through this transfer, the Ladonian Crown and MicroWiki affirm their shared commitment to supporting micronationalism by providing it with a reliable, impartial, and factual reference tool. In a constantly evolving micronational world, Micro-Gotha is thus entering a new phase, driven by cooperation, rigorous documentation, and a dedication to preserving a shared heritage for the benefit of the entire community.
