Welcomed to the marvelous Königreich Romkerhall, near Goslar, Germany, the guests of this 2025 edition of the Micro-Euro-Summit were immediately put in the mood for a spectacular start to this long-awaited event.

The first evening featured a stroll through the surrounding forest to the Romkerhall waterfall, which could be considered the Niagara Falls of the Micronational World. After a meal in the Hunters' Hall in the company of His Majesty King George V of Hanover, participants were invited to admire a historic fireworks display, the first time fireworks had been set off at a Micronational event!

On Saturday, August 2, the conference opened under the magnificent golden chandeliers of the King's Great Hall. All guests received a welcome bag filled with goodies. The opening speech was given by President Zar Antonov of Obscurium, before inviting His Majesty King George V to welcome the guests to this summit.

The first presentation was by HRH Grand Duke Nicholas of Flandrensis, who invited the guests to follow him in a very interesting presentation retracing 200 years of micronationalism.

The second presentation was given by Duke Yvan Bertjens, Minister of Foreign Affairs. His Excellency provided useful and relevant advice for ensuring good relations and exchanges with other micronations.

HRH Archduke of Duckionary proposed a census of micronations in several areas to better understand their nature and motivations.

The lunch break allowed guests to enjoy a platter of local charcuterie before gathering in front of the royal residence for a photo opportunity and a coin-making workshop. This workshop, presented by HRH Grand Duke Arthur of Duckionary and HRH Grand Duke Nicholas of Flandrensis, was a great success with the participants. Each participant was able to strike a coin with a mallet on the coin press provided. This tool allows micronations that wish to do so to mint their own currency in exchange for a contribution to the purchase of coins and molds specific to the creation of their coins.

Time was allowed for photo breaks and press interviews before HE General Jüergen Schwarz spoke about stamps and how to illustrate one's postal identity. A very useful presentation that allowed the audience to familiarize themselves with some basic rules.

Since we were on the subject of rules, this presentation was followed by one by His Grace Duke Olivier of Constance on international protocol. It was an opportunity to learn a little more about international customs and traditions. Finally, the organizers of the Micro-Euro-Summit gave a final presentation to share their experience in organizing an event such as the Micro-Euro-Summit.

Finally, the participants were treated to a real scoop with the announcement of the change of ownership of MicroWiki, the largest micronational encyclopedia and an essential reference in the world of micronations. His Grace Duke Yvan Bertjens, aka Horeidosha, is now the proud owner. (See our previous article).

Another surprise: Olivier de Constance offered a 30% discount on registrations for MicroCon EU 2027, valid until August 15, 2025. To take advantage of this discount, visit eu.microcon27.com.

The philatelic aspect of the summit also deserves to be highlighted because the collections on display were all very carefully crafted, with a special mention for the Frya Nordland Territories (FNT). The guests left with an envelope containing the franked stamps of all the co-organizing micronations: Duckionary, Obscurité, Flandrensis, Ladonia and Aigues-Mortes.

The gala dinner concluded a particularly gracious and passionate edition. His Majesty King George V willingly participated in the traditional knighting of Romkerhall for the night. This was followed by the exchange of medals and awards, a moment always eagerly awaited by micronationalists.

It was a flawless and great success for the founders of the Micro-Euro-Summit, SMI, Archduke Arthur of Duckionary, and HE President Zar Antonov of Obscurium, who held their most important summit yet. It's safe to say that thanks to their dedication and passion, Europe is witnessing the rebirth of a micronational event worthy of its own.

This duo, which has now joined the MicroCon EU committee, now represents a solid alternative to the defunct Polination conference. This new group should ultimately constitute, after 2027, a new European event combining the skills of each in the service of European micronationalism. It is important to remember here that MicroCon EU 2027 will be the last of its kind to be organized, hence the need for a unique micronational event in Europe to take up the torch.
